My bears are made from german mohair or alpaca and occasionally I also use high quality faux fur. They are stuffed with sheep-wool, fibrefill and/or different kind of granulates.
All teddybears have traditional cotter pin joints to make them move. They have handmade german glass eyes and embroidered noses and claws or sometimes modelled noses. The realistic animals have a complete wire spine to make them move into almost every position and they have felted or modelled noses and claws.
I set great store on a perfectly finishing and also stuffing is done with great care, so the bear is able to cut a good figure even many decades later. All teddies come with their very own "Baerenbaude"-Passport, which of course is valid worldwide. Naturalistic bears and animals come with a certificate. All bears/animals come with my paw insignia.
Occasionally it happens that you see a special teddy and you know it must be this one, but unfortunately he was adopted. In this case please contact me, as some of my bears are allowed to have a brother or sister, but please keep in mind, that it will never turn out to be a "twin" and he will have his very own charactere and I think that makes every bear unique. For example please take a look at "The Paulchen Gang" in my gallery - these bears have the same pattern but every single one of them is unique.
At last you probably asked yourself about the meaning of the name "Baerenbaude" ? Well, this was coincidence. During a side-trip we stopped for a break at a "Baude" (shelter) and here I had the idea: a shelter for bears = "Bear Shelter = Baerenbaude".
Well, now I hope you will enjoy my website and if you have questions, please don´t hesitate to contact me.
Beary greetings,
Angela Meier
